"I took a base recipe & spiced it up! We like SPICY in our house! If you don't like that much spice, cut the cayenne in half or omit it all together"
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • Shredded Cheddar cheese (if desired)

Directions

  1. In a skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain fat. Transfer to a slow cooker. Add the next nine ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4 hours. Garnish individual servings with cheese if desired.
